Dr Robert Grundy
Founder and Director
Dr Robert Grundy is a scientist, business leader and Founder and Director of Anglezarke Life Sciences providing strategic advice and commercial leadership to companies in the life and health sciences sector.
Rob has a 19 year career in Pharma and Biotech which began as a research scientist in Schering-Plough in Milan, Italy and continued at GlaxoSmithKline in the UK where he led multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams and was involved in Business Development strategy. Rob served as Chief Scientific Officer with Cerebricon, a preclinical CRO based in Finland before moving to Northern Ireland in 2008, when he became a founding member of Almac Discovery, contributing significantly to the establishment and growth of the business, building a pipeline of oncology therapeutic assets through licensing and strategic partnerships. In 2014 Rob founded Anglezarke Life Sciences Ltd. Rob has also served as CEO of CIGA Healthcare, a point of care diagnostic test company.
Rob is currently Chair of MATRIX, Northern Ireland’s Science and Technology panel forming policy within the Department for the Economy.
Rob has a PhD in Neuroscience from Manchester University, and an Honours degree in Pharmacology from Liverpool University.
Robert Hill is the Director of the Northern Ireland Space Office and chair of the Northern Ireland Space Special Interest Group (NISSIG) hosted by the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space trade membership group ADS. He is also a Regional Fellow with the UK Satellite Applications Catapult and Kx Space Advidor.
Conor is a Director at Houston Solutions Ltd and has provided trusted strategic advice to senior leaders across business, government, the third sector and entertainment industry. He has experience in bringing large-scale impactful strategies to life.
He delivers an innovative “Brexit Advisory Service” to leading companies across the UK and Ireland.
Conor also acts as Head of Engagement for Digital DNA – the largest tech & digital conference in Northern Ireland.
In 2019, in partnership with Willis Events & Marketing, Houston Solutions launched “HW Corporate” providing strategic business development through the curation of bespoke events.
Conor is Governor of The Irish Times Trust. He is the current Chair of The Ireland Fund Young Leaders Belfast. Conor is also a Director of ShoutOut an LGBTQ+ anti-discrimination charity.
Previously, as a solicitor advocate he represented clients to the Supreme Court of both the UK and Ireland and was involved in many high profile and pioneering cases. He also represented the legal profession on the Executive Board of the European Young Bar Association and was elected to serve on the Council of the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
From 2015-17 he was as Programme Director at the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building leading on their ‘EU Debate NI’ programme.
He is a Fellow of the US State Department Rule of Law Programme, Fellow of the British Council Hammamet Conference and represented the UK at the Ship for World Young Leaders Conference in Japan. He has also delivered lectures in Harvard University and Loyola Marymount University LA.
Conor was part of the official NI delegation to the White House in March 2017 to promote economic and cultural relations between the island of Ireland and the United States. In October 2017, he joined two Nobel Peace Prize winners on stage to address the One Young World Summit in Bogota, Colombia on the theme: “It’s all about relationships.”
Donal is a management consultant providing people and organisational consultancy services. Donal has international consulting experience covering all aspects of organisational design and development.
He has particular skills in supporting organisations to transform their structure, performance and their people and has extensive experience in supporting boards and senior management teams in reviewing their effectiveness, having worked with over 700 boards throughout his career.
Colin is the founder and Creative Director of Sixteen South Television, making quality television for children all over the world. Colin’s shows are broadcast in over 100 countries, into over 300 million homes across the globe. Colin works at the top of his game and already has partnered with the biggest global names in children’s television including Sesame Workshop and The Jim Henson Company. He has already won over 20 major creative and business awards and is very happy to be spending his career doing what he loves.
Graduating with a first class honours degree in graphic design, Colin worked in advertising before setting up his first business: Inferno, a leading post production company. From the outset, Colin’s business mantra has been simple: Do some good, make some money, have some fun.
Colin is also the Visiting Professor at University of Ulster’s School of Art, where he is working to bring international attention to the school. He is also a trustee at Storehouse North Down, a food bank that he and some others set up in 2012 to alleviate poverty in North Down. He is married and most of all loves being a Dad to Sophie and Ben.
Dearbhaile is the marketing manager for Powerscreen and won a Belfast Ambassador Award in 2015 for hosting Powerscreen’s 50th Anniversary event in Belfast & Northern Ireland, attracting over 400 delegates to the region.
