Hillsborough Castle is the official Royal Residence in Northern Ireland and home to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
This beautiful Georgian house has a vibrant and dynamic history. Historic meetings between British and Irish politicians have taken place here and the castle her served as an important venue in the Northern Ireland Peace Process. Today you can enjoy the same elegant spaces and professional service previously reserved for presidents and princesses, all within just 20 minutes from Belfast.
The State Dining Room is ideal for smaller talks and dinners. Partnered with the opulent Red Room, Ante Room and show-stopping State Entrance Hall, there’s ample opportunity to create an event that is truly unique.
The grand Throne Room is the most versatile space in the castle and is often used by royalty for official and charitable events. Coupled with the State Drawing Room, it’s the perfect pairing for larger functions with arrival receptions. From here your guests will also benefit from direct access to the stunning South Terrace, with its seasonal planting and water fountain.
For large-scale events, the 100 acres of gardens provide ample opportunity for marquees set amongst landscaped gardens and decorative lawns. The Dining Room Terrace Marquee Site overlooks the beautiful Granville Garden which was originally planted and nurtured by Rose Bowes-Lyon; the aunt of HM The Queen. The South Lawn Marquee Site, used regularly for royal garden parties, is ideal for events for up to 350 people.
