Award-winning St George’s Market is one of Belfast’s oldest and most popular visitor attractions. It was built between 1890 and 1896 and is now one of the best markets in the UK and Ireland.
It has been selected for numerous local and national titles and awards for its fresh, local produce and great atmosphere. It holds a weekly Friday Variety Market, the City Food and Craft Market on Saturdays and the Sunday Market. Although St George’s Market is primarily used as a market, it is also used for a wide range of events including food festivals such as the award-winning Twilight Market, art initiatives, exhibitions, charity launches, fashion shoots, high profile conferences, weddings and live music gigs. A unique setting for any event, St George’s Market is available to hire Monday – Thursday each week and full details on costs can be found at www.belfastcity.gov.uk/markets.
The overall floor area spans some 4,029m² (43,370 ft²), making the market one of the largest hireable venues in the city. With a capacity of 2,000 people it can easily cater for large events, but can be subdivided into smaller spaces if required.
