Dr Robert Grundy

Dr Robert Grundy is a scientist, business leader and Founder and Director of Anglezarke Life Sciences providing strategic advice and commercial leadership to companies in the life and health sciences sector.
Rob has a 19 year career in Pharma and Biotech which began as a research scientist in Schering-Plough in Milan, Italy and continued at GlaxoSmithKline in the UK where he led multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams and was involved in Business Development strategy. Rob served as Chief Scientific Officer with Cerebricon, a preclinical CRO based in Finland before moving to Northern Ireland in 2008, when he became a founding member of Almac Discovery, contributing significantly to the establishment and growth of the business, building a pipeline of oncology therapeutic assets through licensing and strategic partnerships. In 2014 Rob founded Anglezarke Life Sciences Ltd. Rob has also served as CEO of CIGA Healthcare, a point of care diagnostic test company.
Rob is currently Chair of MATRIX, Northern Ireland’s Science and Technology panel forming policy within the Department for the Economy.
Rob has a PhD in Neuroscience from Manchester University, and an Honours degree in Pharmacology from Liverpool University.
