World Class Leadership Live
An exceptional hybrid studio for a flagship event
Built specifically for hybrid meetings, the in-house team at the ICC can host multiple speakers in-house and online, manage Q&A’s, engage the audience with polls and even break everyone out into groups. Using a mix of apps and streaming, it is modern and slick, giving both audiences a fantastic experience and the whole thing can be branded!
The ICC Belfast Hybrid Studio was perfect for World Class Leadership LIVE, offering the flexibility of hosting guests both in-house and virtually. The venue’s latest innovation allowed NI Chamber to communicate their message via a platform that was customised to reflect their brand. Whether attending virtually or in-person, delegates were able to interact with live sessions by asking questions. Speakers delivered keynotes and contributed to panel discussions directly from the Hybrid Studio as well as from their respective bases in the Republic of Ireland, Lebanon and the United States. This was a first for NI Chamber and meant attendees benefited from a global perspective on overcoming universal issues facing businesses in the current climate.
International VR Professionals Association
High tech content from one of Belfast's oldest buildings
The Assembly Rooms in Belfast may be over 115 years old but it’s still one of the most high-tech venues around. Boasting a world-class AV team and in-house IT technicians, they’ve been proudly hosting hybrid meetings for years.
The venue is able to simultaneously host 5 hybrid breakout rooms alongside a keynote from the phenomenal main hall. With the AV crew behind the discerning Van Morrison on the team, the quality is always guaranteed to be excellent.
In 2019, the International VR Professionals Association held their four day conference in the Assembly Rooms with 250 attendees in-person and hundreds more joining in online live.
An Evening with Rory McIlroy and Pep Guardiola
A sporting event broadcast to the world
Hosted by the Rory Foundation and ahead of the Irish Open, Rory McIlroy was joined onstage at the ICC Belfast by his friends Pep Guardiola, James Nesbitt and Westlife’s Shane Fylan.
The hybrid event was produced by our partner Switch New Media, Visit Belfast’s live streaming specialist partner, and went live to 208k viewers online across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Sky Sports. Over 1m people were reached by the social media content produced by the event and the Switch New Media team provided support before, during and after to generate video content that was engaging for online viewers who could submit questions for the guests live.
Visit Belfast Destination Showcase
Something more than a PowerPoint presentation
The ABPCO Destination Showcase went virtual this year so the Visit Belfast team took the opportunity to show off the city on wheels. We pulled together some of our venues, partners and ambassadors and challenged Debs, the Head of Business Tourism, to host a virtual site visit within our time slot – she popped on a helmet and managed it with a little help from one of our favourite comperes, David Meade.
With our partners Switch New Media and thanks to the high-speed wifi available throughout Belfast they were able to showcase the city on the move, demonstrating how the compact location, co-operative suppliers and facilities here lend themselves perfectly to hybrid and multi-venue events.
St Patrick's Day with Visit Belfast
Any other year, we would spend March bringing guests to Belfast as a St Patrick’s treat. We’d take them to see some of our fabulous venues, to meet suppliers, enjoy some tasty food and discuss how the city can work for events. At the end of the business-side of things, we always offer to go for a lovely pint or a fancy cocktail to wind down and celebrate a job well done. Of course, the pandemic put a stop to our usual plans and we had to pivot to a virtual offering.
Partnering up with our friends at Taste & Tour NI and Belfast Hidden Tours, we were able to host five fun-filled nights of cocktail making, games, poetry, snacks, music and story telling for some of our clients and their guests. Each attendee received a box full of ingredients and local snacks and we spent a few hours touring the city’s best pubs and sight, meeting some local characters and being entertained, as well as shaking up our own drinks!
The events were a mix of pre-recorded content as well as live streams from the city and every guest got to experience Northern Irish hospitality from the comfort of their own homes. It took co-ordination but providing a tangible, shared experience for your attendees is a great way to make virtual feel personal.
